What the visits include

  • 01

    A movement and joint exam

How your neck and back move, and which joints are stiff or tender.

  • 02

    Gentle adjustments or mobilization

Only if the exam shows they fit and you say yes. You can say no at any time.

  • 03

    Soft-tissue work

Hands-on work on tight muscles around the neck and shoulders.

  • 04

    Guidance for home

Posture and movement advice you can use between visits.

How long, how often, and what we do not claim

  • How long and how often

Your chiropractor sets how often after the exam. Soreness after a visit is common and usually brief, and we don't promise a number of visits.

  • What we do not claim

Neck adjustments carry rare serious risks, which your doctor explains before any adjustment. We don't claim this care treats a disease.

How it is paid

Plans differ on what they pay for spinal care. We check first, and if you pay yourself you get a written estimate before you come.

Questions about this visit

Is a neck adjustment safe?

Rare serious risks, including injury to an artery in the neck, are real, and your doctor explains them before any neck adjustment. Tell us about any recent neck injury, and say no if you prefer.

Will I be adjusted at my first visit?

Only if the exam shows it fits your plan and you agree.

  • A sudden severe headache or neck pain, dizziness, trouble speaking or seeing, new weakness or numbness, numbness in the groin or saddle area (between the legs and buttocks), or new bladder or bowel trouble needs emergency care now. Call 911 or go to an emergency room.
